“There is a before and after participating in the IAP symposium. The 2023 call, in which I participated, was an extraordinary and unforgettable experience professionally, academically, and personally. First of all, the professors, who come mainly from Harvard (Kennedy School) and other first-rate universities (Oxford, Clark, Naples) deal in depth and creativity (two not easy challenges) with their specialization topics. The use of high-quality practical cases helps to have a clear, focused and detailed picture of the key complex issues to Public Policies, Geopolitics and high-level decision-making. Not every day you have the chance to discuss over coffee with US presidential advisers or experts in Big Data and Security, like it happens during the symposium. Secondly, the program includes various activities that provide an immersion in the daily life of Harvard University, which is very intense and rewarding. Third, the program brought together high level professionals from various Latin American countries and Spain, of different ages, diverse backgrounds and technical approaches. It was amazing to work with my colleagues in a collaborative and transgenerational way, learning every minute and creating a strong network. Lastly, although it could be the first, I want to highlight the high motivation, extraordinary professionalism and great daily involvement of the IAP staff, especially Raquel and Silvia, always ready to support the participants and displaying their biggest smile so that everything was perfect.”

“A great experience, highly recommended! Each session of the symposium was very inspiring. The teachers were excellent. The program is well balanced and up-to-date. Having the opportunity to be taught by Harvard and MIT experienced teachers is an experience that I will never forget. Moreover, the participants are very interesting people. Having the opportunity to talk with them and exchange experiences is a highlight of the program.”

“As an IAP participant in 2019, I found the program extremely interesting and useful. I would recommend it for three main reasons. First of all, the classes. Listening to lectures given by Harvard and Oxford university professors is in itself very rewarding. The lectures are practical, and the conversations between professor and participants are extremely fulfilling. Some professors have decades of experience. There is plenty of required reading material provided before the week begins so that one can gain knowledge and feel confident and prepared, making it possible to get the most out of each lecture. Secondly, the program brings together people from Spain and Latin American countries with diverse and very qualified backgrounds and experiences. The group worked very well together. Third, the whole experience of being on the Harvard campus is really nice and worth it. Lastly, I would mention that one can see Raquel´s involvement and enthusiasm, it’s really contagious!”
